Btw, you mentioned Boethius's consolation of Philosophy. I don't know this philosopher, but I'm a philosophy and commercial science student and so I heard about Plato, Aristoteles etc.

You know symposion 211-212b where Plato talkes about "a well understood boylove" in a manner that makes clear that it's something on a very high level. Anyway he is positive about it. And those old greek philosophers did recognise God enough to take them al least seriously as a christian.
