There are two major components of conversion (ie. becoming a Christian); faith, and repentance. Faith involves belief in and acceptance of Christ's atoning sacrifice. Repentance is the act of turning from our sinful life and taking an active role in our sanctification. In essence, faith is the acceptance of Jesus as our saviour while repentance is our acceptance of Jesus as our Lord.

That is what it means to be a Christian. I don't think we disagree on that. The problem that keeps cropping up is that you want to take it a step further and say that your interpretation of God's moral laws is the only interpretation conducive to salvation. On that, we will never agree.
