In my own situation I don't see an either or between spending time with my yf or serving God. To me they are one and the same. My yf, my family, my friends, my prosperity... these things are all given to me (right along with my BL and every other thing in my life) as part of God's purpose for me. I can use all these things for God's glory.

Paul told Timothy, "God gives us all things richly to enjoy" (1 Tim 6... I think).

I think the key to all this is to receive all blessings with great thanksgiving and being willing to use them all to serve God and celebrate Him. In my mind that means a focus on loving people.
