I have to question this story. The plug was pulled on To Catch a Predator in 2008. That's a long time ago. According to *www.esquire.com/features/predator0907-2, NBC hired young-looking actors in their 20s to play brief roles as kids in the stings. "Cute preteen" seems a little far-fetched.

"Hide behind at least seven proxies" is functionally meaningless and certainly wouldn't help anyone trying to meet a kid at home.

There may be some proxying involved here, though.
