There is a ridiculous video I saw somewhere of a 6-year-old playing Mike Portnoy's Panic Attack. It made my jaw drop. I'm a pretty good drummer, but I can't near touch that song. He played it mechanically, but his timing was solid, and he threw in most of the fillers.

I don't think kids are learning younger... I started piano when I was 4, and I think that's pretty normal. But I've never met any kids before now who can match the pros. That just shows me the awesome power of a child's mind.
