I wouldn't call it blind faith, but there is a measure of faith I put in my pastor.
Read Below Your Faith is misdirected. No man deserves our Faith except when God says - Exodus 19:9 The LORD said to Moses, "I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear me speaking with you and will always put their trust in you." Then Moses told the LORD what the people had said. Did he say this to your pastor? And if you noticed God gave Moses something to prove Moses was coming on God's behalf. What does your pastor have as proof he's Godly and trustworthy? Just because his man made education gives him a doctorate of Theology or whatever other man made credentials he has. Has your pastor even passed this test? 16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Have you or any other believer proven themselves by what is said to had been spoken by Jesus who is the word of God? 2 Kings 18:5 Hezekiah trusted in the LORD, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him. # Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Psalm 37:2-4 (in Context) Psalm 37 (Whole Chapter) # Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding(Don't you think this goes the same with your pastor?) You might like this one and this might help your argument. Isaiah 50:10 Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God. Jeremiah 17:5 This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. You may call me a nitpicker but it is people like you who will tell people to put your faith in the Bible and your soul in the hands of those who translate or compiled and even written the words recorded yet can't assure them that it is infallible. Yes, I will nitpick because this a matter of Heaven or Hell. If you are complacent with what people tell you than first read this one last verse - The Yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees 5When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread. 6"Be careful," Jesus said to them. "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." 7They discussed this among themselves and said, "It is because we didn't bring any bread." 8Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, "You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? 9Do you still not understand? Don't you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? 10Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? 11How is it you don't understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." 12Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees (RELIGIOUS TEACHERS/LEADERS) Peter's Confession of Christ 13When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" 14They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." 15"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" 16Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ,[b] the Son of the living God." 17Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. 18And I tell you that you are Peter,[c] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[d] will not overcome it.[e] 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[f] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[g] loosed in heaven." 20Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ. |
