I never claimed that God said it. What I claimed is that the bible is clear that Adam did not say it. The closing of a quotation mark indicates the end of a quote. The " denotes that the quote is over. Adam only said one sentence there, not two.

Now, you could argue that all of the biblical scholars are wrong and incorrectly translated the text by putting the closing quotation marks there, but it's kind of difficult to defend such a position since the clear change in point of view makes it evident that Adam was done talking.
