Actually, I don't make such an assumption. My logic is asymmetrical (no/yes-or-no) rather than bifurcative (yes/no). That is, a North American raised in (or converted to) traditional Christianity would be unlikely to support gay relationships if he had no experience with gay couples that would contradict his assumptions, while one who had enough contact with gay relationships to understand their workings might or might not decide to support them. |
