I've never been repulsed by the notion of having sex with a boy. However that doesn't mean I'm going to do it. The only way I've ever been able to accept myself as a pedophile and be more confident is by acknowledging that I won't have sex with a minor. Deciding to not do something we crave is what separates us from the animals.
