The very symbolic film for BL's recently has to be Race to Witch Mountain, in which Dwayne Johnson as the intrepid cab driver is shocked to find that his heart makes him do the right thing by two kids (one a cute boy played by Alexander Ludwig), even if all the violent state authorities are determined to stop him for their own misguided reasons. These days, anyone who even has the courage to have a younger-older friendship, a non-sexual YF-ship, partakes in the spirit of this movie. That's especially true when the boy has abusive or otherwise problematical parents/guardians.
