As much as I would love to give a detailed answer to this question, security precautions prevent me from doing so. There are certain things which might help you understand, however.

The fact is, there are countless boys in the world who lack, desperately need, and sometimes seek an adult male figure in their lives. There are also many boys, oftentimes those very same ones, who spend a lot of time on their own in general.

As for people's fears, the stereotypes work in our favor. The stereotype of a pedophile is so out of whack, so totally out of touch with reality, that it is likely none of us here match it. We are too nice, too intelligent, too socially adept, too friendly, too successful, too caring, too spiritual, etc. A lot of times people will bend over backwards to explain away your interest in boys because they find it impossible to consolidate their stereotypes of the pedophile with what they know about you.

As for the term YB, I really don't think we need yet another divisive name to further drive a wedge between one bl and another. I have no need to make up new terminology in order to make myself feel morally superior to another bl. I won't use that or any other new divisive label.
