I am wondering why you worry about what comes after? Isn't it just one of those things that we can only wonder about and then get on with living? The only thing that Jesus really says about life 'afterwards' is when he talks about God being the 'God of the living and not of the dead'. From God's perspective you live. You live now and because God is always in the now He perceives you always in the now.
I know that that's just wordplay really but it helps me to understand.
From the point of view of other people too, we only have one life here on earth and whatever we do here and now resonates on through our friends. If we do bad things that is how we are remembered. If we do good things then these will resonate on in the memories of others. It's only what we do now which counts. Tomorrow never comes! Another thing that Jesus says is 'enough for the day is the evil thereof' . . . or something like that anyway. I think being a Christian is not about tomorrow its only about today.
