Jesus gave His followers a model for prayer - Our Father etc...
Prayer is communicating with God - talking and listening - so you can talk about everything in your life because He knows everything anyway and He loves you. And you can also be quiet and listen for His voice, ask Him to reveal Himself to you through His Word and through other people and circumstances. He wants a relationship with you more than you want one with Him
