Dispersing responsibility?

Firstly, I believe that the Holy Spirit is subjective. I believe that it's a seperate consciousness within the brain itself that lies dormant for most of our lives until activated. Knowledge of this spirit is what leads people to be 'born-again'. I could also explain why this entity exists through evolution, but I'll leave that for now unless you're interested. Since we all have our own 'Spirits', this explains why the Holy Spirit gives different answers to different people. The Holy Spirit told my Grandmother that the Mormon Church is in fact true. You're not going to take kindly to that if you're not a Mormon, are you?

As for the 'deciding to decide' 'paradox', all this is is the mind catagorising an idea in loops. The brain makes thousands of decisions ALL THE TIME by itself. Most of it is unconscious. Whenever you dream, something in your brain is DECIDING what landscapes to throw in your face and DECIDING what your dream characters will say next. Given the brain's phenominal size, masses of decisions could be being made every moment. So, why is it surprising that we can only be conscious of seven at once? That only proves how far our ability to focus goes, not how many decisions are being made. The brain can also 'back up' decisions simply by associating ideas, in a similar way to how our memory works.

Admittedly I did not understand any of that Maxwell's demon thing... but I'll look it up because it sounds interesting.

Sorry this post is pretty long, but I have one more very important point to make. Okay, let's assume that we do indeed have 'free will'. We can choose to do rightcheous or wicked things. If this is the case, why would God damn all the souls that were weaker to temptation and bless all the souls which were resistant?

This might just be me thinking in black and white, but each day is like a probability tree of decisions. For the sake of the argument, let's assume that the chance of choosing good or evil is 50/50 (the ratio factor doesn't really make a difference anyway).

We begin with the first decision: should I get up or sleep in? 50/50. One path is followed. If he gets up it goes on to two more decisions pertaining, and if he sleeps in it goes on to two more decisions pertaining. This goes on and on until we have a massive tree. There is a chance that he could go down any route (or, if you're a bit paradoxical let's say he went down all of the routes, just in parallel universes). Even with all of these things in consideration, why would God damn the one who just happened to have chosen all of the wrong choices? He would just as well have chosen the correct ones!

Also, let me clear something up. I really want to make sure that we know the difference between 'damnation' and 'punishment'. I reckon God will PUNISH the wicked, but in the same way that a father would punish disobedient children. i.e. not FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER AND EVER ... ad infinetum.

If you got through that, then I appreciate it. I do rant on sometimes!
