Doesn't scripture often contradict itself? Without having done any particular background reading before I put my oar in here(!) aren't there any contradictions between the words of Jesus and the words of an oldtime hardliner like Moses (who orders something akin to genocide on at least one occasion) that might persuade you of the possible limitations of his view?
