Personally I think the Catholic church is Christian so it is not a different religion.

Sometimes you will be surprised what churches you like and which you don't. I have found a few denominations where I like most of their churches I have been to but also where I like their theology but not the church services or the services but not the theology. A great church will not be a good fit for everyone. Personally I prefer medium sized churches, not tiny but not a mega church either. Take your rime and pray about it.
