giving them a strangely 'scientific', chilly, ugly and slightly nauseating feel.

There are anglo-saxon words for these things of course but they are usually considered rude or even abusive. [If I quoted examples, the forum would probably block them.]

its worth bearing in mind just how limited, limiting and manipulative language can often be - particularly when it comes to sex; (but perhaps also, come to think of it, when it comes to God too. I use the word God there rather than religion because the latter falls straight into the Latin trap as well and has a string of connotations and overtones all of its own. . . .
