on the one hand I think your view is very Freudian/Dawkinsian (it seems to suggest that at the core of man there is nothing more substantial than the sexual urge (presumably to procreate)). On the other I find Cat's view too far the other side: rosy-tinted perhaps. I think there are elements of truth in both.
