I notice that in so so many movies featuring boys there is always a scene with the said boy either topless or in underwear. It seems like it's almost a required element, no matter what the story to include such a scene if the movie/show includes a lead boy (suite life is no exception... if you've seen the towel episode!).

It makes me wonder if movie producers/directors who want to make movies with a boy lead are motivated by BL in themselves. I mean, as a BL myself, the prospect of working with a boy on a project like a movie where I get to dress him up, put words in his mouth and tell him what to do has enormous appeal.
