The Oedipus complex has had my panties (Though I don't really wear them) in a bunch in the beginning but I see what you mean. If anything maybe some people go through it and not all and for those who do go through it well good for them and if not well it does not really matter. I guess it could be maybe a possible stage that does not really affect the growth of the person.

I never saw the film but I did see a bit from the book. I guess I'm not much interested in reading it anymore but I still want to find something though this time I'll try to sort out the millions of biased books from the very few un-biased books.
