My feeling is that God gives us special relationships to show us His own nature and so that we can share the fruits of love with all people even though this is mostly beyond us . . . nevertheless it is His way and as we are His children it is what He calls us to try to do as our only way to happiness.
so we see boys (and younger men in my own case) in the way that He sees everyone.
the danger for us is if we stop acknowledging His place in all of our 'best' relationships. This is why it does worry me when people go on about 'lust'. Lust will only 'take over' if we cease our prayer but to even worry about 'lust' means that we are taking our eyes off our place in Him. this is as much the case with 'normal' heterosexual relationships as with gay relationships. (and I include boys in that category)
