from the depths.
I was just cruising the prayer room and I came across this petition:

Dear Heavenly Father I pray that You would take the young boy that Sushil has brought to our attention in that video and take him out of that situation, and that You would put him in a place where people will keep the boy safe. That you Lord would give this boy a life filled with real love and give him back his childhood that has been stolen from him. I pray that you Lord would heal all of the harm that has been done in this boys heart and restore his life so he can have a happy childhood.

Lord I also pray that you would give him justice in whatever way you decide.
For I know that Your ways are right and true and that you will give them what they deserve.

I have no problem with the first request that God take the boy into a situation where he is not being sexualised but after that I find this prayer quite disturbing.
"Give him back his stolen childhood" as though sex takes away his childhood!
"Heal the harm that has been done in this boy's heart" as though sex was inherently harmful for boys. I think the harm comes more from the kind of sentiments that encourage the boy to believe he's been harmed despite how much he's enjoyed himself, causing him to live in perpetual confusion and self-damnation.
"restore his life so he can have a happy childhood" Who says his childhood isn't already happy?
"give him justice" Justice would be to condemn him (yes the boy) along with the rest of sinful creation. Mercy is that God gave his own son to die for this boy's sins. Mercy he needs as much as the adult who is having sex with him.
Don't you gentlemen realize that these are the very attitudes that cause society to paint us as monsters! It breaks my heart to hear my own kind espousing the very propaganda of the hunters.
Sex outside of marriage is wrong because God says it is. Sex is not automatically harmful for children. Children can and do enjoy sex, just like they can enjoy any other sin of indulgence outside of it's God-appointed boundaries.
Am I wrong? or perhaps we all really should walk out into the sunlight and do the world a favor.
