I love horror. I've been a huge fan of Stephan King for many, many years, as well as other horror writers. King, however, has the distinction of having had a lot of his books turn into movies. So if you love horror AND boys, check out "Desperation", which is out on DVD. It was a t.v. mini series made in 2006 and it is really good. I just rented it this week as my celebration of Halloween of sorts. Then there is "Hearts In Atlantis", a very good movie about the relationship between a young boy and a mysterious man who takes a room as a boarder in his home. Then there is the famous "Stand By Me", a movie that (I think) every BL should see. And the origional 1979 version of "Salems Lot" is also quite good but kind of dated and kind of long, since it too was a t.v. mini series.

Oh boy...don't get me started. I'm with you though, the so-called horror movies of today aren't normally very good. They think that massive amounts of blood and gore equal scarry, which isn't often the case. Give me a movie like "Psycho" any day. Now that movie is frightening without being very gory at all. Or any of the Alfred Hitchcock movies, for that matter. I just saw the latest M. Night Shyamalan movie, "The Happening", last night and I'll tell you what, THAT'S a good horror movie. It's his first rated "R", but it's still very high quality stuff; something I've come to expect from him. I like M. Night Shyamalan because his focus is always on that which trully scares people, and a fascinating story, not boring old cliche's and buckets of blood. Check out some of his movies too, if you like.

Happy Halloween!
Chris
