one of the most interesting evenings of my life was while I was at university many years ago; a friend invited me round for an evening meal and then sat there looking at me waiting for me to start the conversation. God told me to tell him I was gay (don't ask me how I knew that's what I had to say, I just did) - which is what he was waiting for - and we had a helpful conversation. He did subsequently get married - to quite a boyish looking lady it has to be said: they've been married over 20 years now. So it does happen.
But as the disabled rights campaigners always point out, your disability is not who you are, it's just an aspect of your life that you have to deal with. The real question for you is about finding what you really want to do with your life; I suggest you work through the linked material and see if it sheds any light on the issues you are facing. But don't be too surprised if you don't get any very clear guidance - there are times when God tells us to make up our own mind within the laws He's laid down: He's not going to be pleased if you choose to be a gay porn star for example..... The other approach is to write all the voices down: it can help work out what they're really saying and let you hear the quieter ones. And laugh at the ones that you really aren't impressed by! |
