I think there are more than a few at BC that agree with you, but they just don't want to rock the boat by speaking up when that issue comes up. I've posted there on rare occasions. One time I posted about how society and the legal system causes so much guilt and head games on a boy if it is ever found he has been sexual with an adult, the issue of whether or not the actual sex harms the boy is moot. If the sex doesn't harm him, the backlash sure will. And the post was surprisingly well received. But many did want to reiterate their belief that it is society's fault that harm comes to the boy, which I don't really agree with, although society certainly does contribute to it. My personal belief is that some boys aren't nearly as traumatized by it till society tells them they are. And some boys turned adult sue for the money more than the pain. But I also believe in most cases the boy IS harmed by the sexual contact, even if it's consensual. What a boy may think is ok or harmless fun at 10 or 12 may not seem so harmless when he is older. I do allow for the fact that SOMETIMES sexual contact with a boy is not harmful to him. But I think that is the exception rather than the rule. My main argument against sex with boys is that I believe in ALL circumstances, any positive impact you can have on a boy's life can be made without sexual contact. So why take the very real risk of causing harm when you can do as much for the boy by simply being his friend? Dakota |
