That question is too broad to really answer. First of all, it obviously depends on where you live. The answer for California is not going to be the same answer as in Utah which won't be the same answer as in Saudi Arabia. Secondly, as with most legal questions, it probably isn't that clear cut either. Lawyers rarely speak in definitive terms. They will rarely say that something will or will not get you in trouble, rather they will instead speak in terms of the amount of "exposure" to law suits and indictment certain actions have.
Theoretically, it is not illegal to be a pedo in most western nations. But in practice, it does increase your exposure to legal actions greatly if you are out. Perhaps the worst exposure of all that you would be introducing, is the exposure to the possibility of false accusations. If some kid goes missing in your neighborhood and there are people who know you are a pedo, it increases the chances that you will become a suspect. Having said all that, I did come out to a shrink long ago. The psychotherapy was useless, but he gave me access to anti-depressants that helped me get through a rough time. I am a happy person now and no longer need such things. |
