I have now been with my YF since he was 12. From 15-18 he lived with me off and on until he finished High School. He is now attending a college in a different state from me, so we havent seen each other in six months, and I presume it will be much longer. I used to have romantic feelings for him when he was younger, but now that he is all grown up and out on his own I have decided to let him go and be his own man. At one point I was hoping that when he turned 18 maybe something could start between us. But i have since realized that he is not interested, so we continue as friends, talking on the phone once in a while. I truly wonder if he asked me today to get romantically involved, what would i do? WHo knows, maybe i would say yes and marry him. On the other hand, I am now free to become the friend of another YF, and be a mentor once again.
