A big "Thank You" to Rainboy for suggesting this movie. I loved it and was moved to tears several times. I didn't quite know how well this documentary would come across at first, but right after the opening credits it became obvious that it was going to be good. Being introduced to some of the kids and watching them pack for the camping experience was a moving experience in itself. Each one of the kids touched my heart in some way, but I really connected with Tim. He is a soft-spoken, gentle soul who has seen a large share of trouble in his short life so far. He had been to alchohol and drug rehab and seemed to me to be suffering from depression or bipolar disorder.
These kids are all searching for God and have been disallusioned by the church comunity, by and large. Even the pastor who was one of the adults at the camp was gay and having his own issues. This movie is so touching and such a window into the lives of young gay and lesbian teenagers who are trying thier best to live thier lives in an un-welcoming society AND trying to be Christians as well. Thier stories will move you and when they laugh or cry, so will you. This is a very worthwhile movie...I loved it. Thank you so much again, Rainboy. You have good taste in movies too. With Love, Chris ![]() |
