The reason I quote the person is so that I can address each point individually. If the person made 3 different points that I want to address, I like to address each of those points on its own. I think it makes the posts better structured, more legible, and more orderly when each point is addressed individually and the original point that is being addressed is presented immediately before being addressed.
Of course in a live conversation you would not do this. But in a live conversation people don't present a dissertation composed of half a dozen individual points before they allow the other person to talk. In a live conversation the statements are much shorter and the points can be addressed immediately. However, since I now know this bothers you, I will try to remember to refrain from posting that way next time I want to address things you said. |
