items of low relevancy were pruned as in all essays

Undoubtedly, the most relevant item of all is the changing view of childhood brought on by an increased life expectancy, shrinking size of the nuclear family, the move from agrarian economies, and the ever rising age at which one is expected to take on adult responsibilities.

No mention of that was made.

though you have listed factors you think were omitted, you've said nothing about how any of these might contradict my thesis ... in other words, your criticisms so far have been diffuse and causally insubstantial.

The fact you constructed a thesis on (or at least attempted to prove it using) incomplete information that does not consider a multitude of factors, many of them major, makes the entirety of the article invalid.

It seems you have misunderstood my point. I haven't made the claim that the thesis is wrong. My claim is that the article doesn't do anything to promote or defend that thesis.

It may be that your thesis is correct. But since this article is so flawed as to do nothing to support it, there is no need for us to consider that possibility.

The main difference between our formulations is that I accord the feminists some degree of reasonable behavior (reaction to actual hideous, violent sexual abuse that took place abundantly) whereas you portray them as purely malevolent.

I haven't portrayed them in any way whatsoever. Nor do I see how it would be possible to conclude that I portrayed them in a malevolent way (or in any way at all).

The extent of what I said about militant feminism is that it promoted a view of sex as a weapon of violence. I find it very difficult to see how stating this fact can be interpreted as a purely malevolent portrayal.

But that's merely a difference of opinion: specifically, you seem to be much more politically conservative than I am.

If you used sentences like this more often, I'd have far less problems with the things you write. "seem to be"...that's the kind of language you should use more often when making statements that are not objectively factual.
