I must agree with Blazeofhope in what he said...indeed this theater was filled with boys for this movie. In fact, it was great. Every time I turned around I kept bumping into another young boy. So that was ONE reason why I saw the movie twice this weekend. The other reason was that it was a terrific movie. Yes there was a lot of violence in it, but as I recall, there was plenty of violence in the book, too. I guess I wouldn't take very young children to see it, but probably 7 or 8 on up would handle it just fine. I think they stayed pretty close to the book as far as the story went, but it's been a while since I've read the book. The special effects are top shelf and the acting is as well. I highly recomend this movie all the way around; and if you are bringing your YF to it...have fun!
