NO NO NO!

I am not saying that! (I realize you didn't accuse, you said 'seem')
I have a-whole-nother theory on that one.

Here is what I mean.
My mom can be a boob at times.
I feel like... there is no reason for me to respect her sometimes.
Then I ask myself, what would God have me do?
So it becomes that I WANT to respect my mother because of the grace of God.
That does NOT mean that me and my mom are going to get along for the rest of my holly-jolly life. But I no longer look at respecting my mother as a struggle, though, it is. But an honor, a chance to better myself.

SO what I mean is (and I do realize this is a tougher set of circumstances)
Cat is struggling with this, and I know it hurts, but I DO think God wants all marriages to work out, I think that if Cat can kind of switch the POV for a second, he can find a different motivation. Which is to honor God. So he can (James 1) "Consider trials pure joy". And the only way for us to do this, is let God flow through us like a river.
