Hi Robert-I,
If you think about how the brain actually works, you will realize that just because something appears as thought doesn't necessarily mean that it is subject to being altered by thought. It may or may not be. You can't convince your mind to interpret hot as cold, for example. The difference is hard-wired and no amount of praying will make boiling water feel like an ice cube to you. It's possible I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, and in that case, my apologies. I wonder, though, where something like learning comes into play. A person of almost any age can learn to touch type (or play the piano). [It gets a little more difficult with age, but it's still very possible.] Learning to touch type is effectively training the brain to automatically translate thoughts (of words and sentences) into the finger actions necessary to produce the correct letters on a keyboard. After a bit of practice, no conscious thought goes into what keys to press -- it just happens; the brain is "wired" with the necessary skill. Now I realize sexuality is different from touch typing, but some might argue that, just as you can train your brain for a new skill, you can re-train your brain in the area of sexuality. Thoughts?
