I prefer this type of setup. There are tons of different ways a forum can be set up but the two most prevalent I've seen among BL/GL forums is this type (UBB same as BC, GC, etc) or the kind with multiple boards for different topics (boymoments, boy movies, serious discussions, light discussions, etc) sites like boymoment and boylover.net use this format, many of these forums now require people to be registered before they can even see anything on the site. I know these formats are more complicated than that but I am simplifying it on purpose. I once tried to get registered for a BL sites that doesn't allow you in until you are registered, you cannot read any of it until you are but apparently I failed. I emailed the correct address with my desired nick and password (NOT THE SAME ONE AS HERE of course) and never got a reply saying I could post there. It was not a big deal because I have enough outlets for anything I wast to say BL related but it was a deterrent. Good thing I was not a distressed BL. "it only needs a password entry." Actually that's not true. Well sometimes it is. Notice the couple of posts right near the top that are not bold? Those people are not registered and do not need a password. The forum is sometimes made so only people who are registered can post when necessary and usually not for very long. This means that anyone at all can post here most of the time. Good. Well usually it is at least. This means that most of the time when a distressed BL finds this place they can post right away without having to send and email to register. Yes it means that on occasion people with malicious intent will post here but that will happen at ANY AND EVERY bl forum. Some of them are obvious and cause no worry and others are not so we must be vigilant. "This would simply mean that google cannot scan it." Good. I know this means antis and trolls will find it but so will other Christian BLs who need this place. Wanna know how I found this place years ago? a search engine helped me find Boychat via a link on a pedo hater article (ironic eh?) which led me to here. Ok so I didn't find cbf directly from a search engine but I'm sure others have, and if I could not find BL sites with them I would not be here, I for one am glad I am. "thats got to be an improvement as I am sure many people do not post here because it is so open." Perhaps. I have wondered why so few relative to many other BL sites post here. Not many BLs are Christians? Not many of those people know about this site? Or is it something about this site itself that makes Christian BLs not post here? I don't know the answer to the question but I suppose it's possible some Christian BLs don't post here because it is so open, but I doubt it is many. I have asked a few Christian BLs I know who don't post here why they don't and the most common reason I hear is because they think they are too liberal for this place and would be yelled at. "You might as well be hanging out of the bedroom window and shouting to the neighbours." Good. Thing is the nick 'Godspell' is my secret identity like a masked superhero, no one who knows me by my real name would associate me with the nick here 'Godspell' if they happened to read here (I have often wondered just that, if anyone I know or in my area reads this place). That is why we use nicknames here. It's also why I recommend people use secure email addresses, be careful of who they talk to even to even then, not give out identifying information in posts, use the same email address here as well as other places, as well as other simple precautionary measures. Part of the therapeutic nature of cblf is that other people can read it. You choose what to say but anyone can read it. You can get something you want to tell people off your chest without worrying about people knowing you are the one saying it. Anyway I think your analogy is flawed but none are perfect and I think I've said enough for now. "why you do not make this forum more protected?" What exactly are you proposing? I don't see a complete overhaul of the site coming anytime soon but if you have specific ideas we can read and discuss them. This isn't exactly a mass democracy so if 50.1% of posters wanted pictures of unicorns and butterflies plastered all over the place it still wouldn't happen but actual serious ideas can be discussed and perhaps implemented.
