I suppose the most legitimate use of "indoctrination" is when people (whether or not they are children) are heavily propagandized toward a certain viewpoint and not allowed to come into contact with other viewpoints... "type specimen" would be North Korea. Though plenty of militant secularists these days would call all religious education 'indoctrination,' in fact it usually lacks this quality of being taught relentlessly in an artificial thought vacuum. The FLDS, though, probably DID have a little North Korea of their own going there, and "indoctrination" probably applies very well. In terms of the general question "any thoughts on," I think that in relation to girls from puberty to 16, they were/are "aggressive" or at best "persuasive" pedophiles (http://cblf.org/messages/52979.htm) and I condemn their ethics. |
