Has anyone else watched this film? For those who don't know, this is a documentary about the boylove movement of the 90s, which at the time revolved around NAMBLA.

I had been looking forward to seeing this movie for many years. I first heard about it back when I was a kid myself and was struggling with BL feelings. The movie made quite a buzz in its release, most notably when Howard Stern gave tickets to the opening night to a boy scout troop so they could mingle with the nambla folks. But until now, I had been unable to track down a copy.

Well, I have finally seen it, and I must say I have some very mixed feelings. Back when I was a kid and was hearing about this movie and the NAMBLA organization that supported it, I created this mental image of what these people were like. Here were people just like me. These people understood me and my feelings, they were my peers and one day I would be like them.

Now that I have seen it, I am faced with a reality that is very different from the mythical film I had created in my mind. I am struck by how different from me these people are. Perhaps the movie was masterfully directed, and I only saw what the director wanted me to see. But I can't help but feel like every individual in that film was mentally ill in some way.

A very telling scene is when the Mormon pedophile approaches the boy who is showing off the trick with the public phone. The man is so awkward in his approach that he is almost creepy. The boy obviously does not care about him and might even be expressing a little apprehension at talking to this old guy. Yet afterwards, the man talks about the conversation as if the boy flirted with him.

The guys portrayed in this film are creepy, weird, and apparently mentally ill. They, sadly, fit the stereotype of a pedophile. I am nothing like these people. Sadly...I know there are people like these guys posting on the forums, it's impossible not to run into them having spent any amount of time on bl forums.

Anyone else seen this film and have any thoughts on it?
