I think the example I used -- death for possessing religious materials -- shows that I was not minimizing the danger involved. Bear in mind that I am gay. For most of history, it was extremely dangerous to have a gay relationship. There were very long and brutal prison sentences and a person's social reputation was ruined permanently. Gay sex was illegal in some parts of the USA until the year 2003 - check wikipedia. I am therefore forced to distinguish between doing illegality and doing wrong. Do you know that during the early part of my lifetime there were stiff penalties for miscegenation (marriage or any other sex between members of the black and white races)? Are you going to tell me now that legal folly like that is purely a thing of the past, or will you admit it may still exist? I believe in a person's right to danger. I do not advocate an end to downhill skiing even though I have seen many friends smashed up by it. The world is ruled by safety regulations and insurance companies, but I am not. This is called being alive. What do I have to gain by posting on pedophile boards? In fact, I have put my neck on the line a couple of times by intervening in real life to do things for BLs who were trying to commit suicide, or seemed to be. Am I on an express train heading for that same ravine? Probably so. Banzai! |
