You're not usually so manipulative or myopic. And the first half of your post was so good and true, where did the second half come from?

Why can you not see the many many possibilities here? Why can't Youth have a male life partener / husband and adopt a son together, for instance? Sure, they'd have to move to Massachusetts or Canada or the Netherlands, but it's one of many ways for this to go, and go well.
