I vehemently disagree on a semantic and relational level with you on this.

Less emotional issue first, your issue of language. Pedophile is the same as Minor Attracted Adult, Childlover, or Paedophile. A person who is sexually attracted to children regardless of anything else. Regardless of their beliefs or actions. We have more than one term for heterosexual people but none of them implies that that person is a rapist. Boylover and Girlover is just a pedophile who is primarily attracted to one gender or the other.

In any way at all. That implicates tons of people most would admit they did nothing wrong. What is legally a crime is determined by the jurisdiction. So a person you label as a pedophile would be a boylover in other locations than where he committed what was considered a crime where he was.

I will not separate myself in this way from all fellow pedophiles that are sexual with a minor. This would include lots of people like teens having sex with teens and loving sexual relationships between AF and YF. I would not condone such a relationship but could I really tell that person "You, you are a horrible person you're a pedophile but me I'm a boylover." It has such a 'holier than thou' feeling of "I must distance myself from that person.

There are plenty of examples of very bad pedophiles out there but there are plenty more very good ones. There are also plenty of good and bad heterosexual men, women, people of different races, etc we do not need to drive more of a wedge between us. There do not need to be different terms for 'good' and 'bad' of each kind of person. Should we have a word for 'good' or 'bad' Americans, straights, or Latinos?

I can't separate myself from another just because they happen to have looked at some pictures. Now if that other person had forcibly raped a child it would be a different story. How much of a different story would depend on plenty of other things. I interchangeably use the terms pedophile and boylover for myself because I am primarily attracted to male minors.
