Thank you for your response! I hear your point about "A" and "not A", and how confusion and misunderstanding can result. For better or worse, though, that's how I see the issue. I tend to feel that just as much confusion and misunderstanding can be caused by focusing only on one orientation, without trying to view that orientation within the context of the bigger picture (of all orientations). [This would be akin to focusing on only one section of Scripture (outside of the context of Scripture as a whole).] How would you, personally, determine which sexual orientations are acceptable and which are not? Do you believe zoophilia is acceptable (provided it is done in a loving way)? Regarding adoption, am I wrong in saying that, even though gay marriage is not generally legal, adoption by gay people is often legal (if not necessarily easy)? The following page seems to indicate that LGBT individuals can petition to adopt in almost all US states. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_adoption Anyway, that's a separate issue.
