...or, "sometimes paybacks can smell"!

I've been getting so sick and tired of what's been going on at my job lately, and today I was able to dish out a little payback. But it wasn't so sweet, I guess...

We have a new guy who just started about three weeks ago. The first week he was there, he was gone for almost an entire day one day. Some of the guys figured it out that he was going to Sex Offender Treatment classes, so suddenly he became an outcast among the guys (and women) and now noone talks to him. Except me; I talk to him when I get the chance, although we don't often work together. I have found out through a fairly reliable source what it is this guy did to get in trouble. When he was 18 years old, he had sex with his 15 year old girl friend. He spent two years in prison and is out now on parole. But it just pisses me off to no end to hear what the other people are saying about him behind his back. Like today.

Today when we were on break, I was sitting and quietly reading a magazine, eating my bran muffin, while everyone at the next table were talking about the new guy. All I heard was "Sex offender this" and "sex offender that", and how he should be dealt with, and how someone should maybe follow him home to make sure he doesn't go near the school; etc. Then came the rude jokes, which really got me mad. But I just sat and finished my muffin and when break was over, we all went back to work.

When we went back to work, they put me on the line right next to those guys who were raking the new guy over the coals...all of them. Then it hit! You see, I've been eating bran a lot lately because A. I like it, it tastes good. and, B. it keeps me regular. The doctor recomended I eat more fiber to stay regular and bran has a lot of fiber. But the side affect of bran is...

GAS!!!!

Oh yea, did I have gas today! Last night I indulged in some nice bean and ham soup, so it was REALLY bad. And when you get the bran-induced farts, they don't stop after just a couple...oh no. They keep going and going and going. And they couldn't hear them coming over the machine noises, plus I didn't walk a few steps away like I normaly do when I get like that. Nope, today, considering the company I was in, I just let'em fly!!! After the first 20 minute or so, some of the guys started to get pretty mad, but oh well, they were stuck there for the duration. HA! I hope it left a really bad smell in thier noses to match the bad taste in thier mouths after all the crap that came out of them at break.

Yes, some days it IS fun to be at work. Kind of. I still feel bad about how they are treating this guy. If it gets too bad I might just go talk to our personel director myself about it.
