My God, forgive me of my unholiness.
The east is far from the west, but I fear I live within my guilt. I am weak. Nothing by myself, everything in You. I struggle, Oh God, with my flesh, and the battle wages with my soul, and I am tempted. Lustful as I am foolish. And I fear God, that all I have and love will be stripped away, as Your Son's flesh was taken from His side. Be with me, Oh my God. How can I stand here with You, and not be moved by You, Oh God? Your will for me is like that old book withering away upon my shelf. Full of nothing bad, but all good. It can do me no harm, but only heal. Yet I refuse to read it. How can I stand here with You, and not be moved by You? My body is a pit of disgust and rot. Renewed by You everyday. God, stand by me. Lift me when I stumble in the dark. You are God, and I am man. Creator, to the created. |
