Agape is not opposed to eros, philia, or storge. Rather, it is when all 4 kinds of love blaze together that a true marriage love exists. Like tongues of flame, they burn brighter together than the mere sum of their individual powers.

When you care for the needs of your partner without question or thought, nor need of reciprocation; when you are madly in love with them as though you have only just fallen for them; when you are best friends and confidants, mentors to one another shoring eachother up against the world; when you know eachother through and through, good and bad, beautiful and ugly, and usually caring for a child either your own or adopted and can love them even when infuriated by them; then we call that a good marriage.

That is the love of God, the love that is God, the love that the Trinity models for us.

Where is there a gender requirement in that?
