All this talk about proxies and encryption makes me think I'm in a spy novel. To each his own, but as long as you aren't doing anything illegal, I see little reason to go overboard. Like Blackstone said, only law enforcement can get ip addresses and then they have to have a court order. From what I've gathered in my visits to boychat, the ones that were outed either used their username in several forums or trusted someone they shouldn't have. I use this username only for bl related boards and never reveal too much about myself. I post as if there is someone out there reading every single one of my posts under that name, so I don't reveal info that can be cross referenced. I use a secure e-mail account totally separate from anything else I have for bl related e-mail. I'm not concerned with LE, since I doubt they would ever see any reason to bother me, and would find nothing illegal if they did. My main concern is with the vigilantes, since they are seldom picky about whether or not you've actually done anything, they want to burn you for merely existing. My other concern is that I would prefer for my loved ones never find out I am a bler, even after I die. Since I never bother to delete the history, and I have a few bl related favorites, it would be fairly obvious to anyone who looked at my comp what I was, even though nothing illegal would be found. So I made an arrangement with a trusted friend to wipe my hard drive should I ever die unexpectedly. Maybe I shouldn't care what happens after I die, but I guess I do.
