If the "it" is refers to "the Foxtor plugin," then you're on safe grammatical ground and the error is mine, but I don't know anything about the plug-in having a "proxy checking scheme" or what that would consist of, so I am eager to learn.

With regard to confidentiality, in this terrorist-afflicted world, I think it's safest to assume that my web-based email can be read by both authorities and interlopers, and I treat it accordingly. I do, however, have a flotilla of I.P.-clean email addresses accessed only under proxy for the sake of anonymity (it's overkill, but if you're going to set one up, you might as well set up several.) There's no point coming to a site like this under proxy when you don't know for sure what may happen over time with the email address you registered under, and if it potentially reveals you. Vigilantes have been known to become admins of BL boards, and email addresses may also be collected in raids and burglaries. No offense to our kind and valiant administration here, who I am sure are doing everything reasonable to treat our addresses well, but it's just basic caution.
