I hope that I can express to you my standards and beliefs without coming across as confrontational or close-minded. I have been taught and, more importantly, I have read in the Bible that both homosexuality and extra-marital sex are detestable to God. Little would please me more than to be convinced that I have somehow misinterpretted the Scriptures. Right now I live under the assumption that celibacy is my only option other than getting married and pretending to be straight.

Please, if you can, tell me where I am mistaken. I consider myself to be very level-headed, and I seek truth with much enthusiasm. I do not mean this to come across as a challenge, but rather as a sincere request. If I am missing out on my sex life due to a mistake, then I would be very grateful for some correction.

I am dogmatic in only one thing: I believe that the Bible, combined with prayer and the earnest pursuit of truth, makes up the infallible Word of God. If we differ on this, then we cannot agree, but if you share this view, I may be persuaded.
