Indeed. Technically, God could sweep and "save the day" so to speak, but our God isn't Deus ex Machina. Yes, God often does do small miracles and even big ones, but there is a clear, if fine, line between (on one hand) trusting God to take care of you and bless the work of your hands and the intentions of your heart, and (on the other hand) presuming upon God to perform a miracle for you. The first is faith, the second, hubris. And that is one of the many sins of the ex-gays: they try to force God to act by invoking God's name *literally* in vain, according to the scientific results.
