I don't have a lot of time, but here is my belief in a nutshell. I believe there is a literal heaven and hell, because the Bible says there is. I can't believe that the scripture would be so dead on right about so many things only to lie about heaven/hell. However, exactly what constitutes heaven and hell is open to interpretation. Some believe there are different levels of hell, and I find this quite possible. I have read opinions that suggest that hell might be nothing more than the absence of God, and the torment would be that you would finally realize what you are missing out on by not being with God. But whatever the case, I seriously doubt our existance there (heaven or hell) will be anything like we are experiencing here on Earth. We (and the Bible writers) have absolutely no form of reference to adequately describe it. I've often contemplated that time itself might not even exist in the here after. Think about it. How can anyone exist for millions and millions of years without ever getting bored? Time may have just been another creation by God for our benefit while on Earth. After all, eternity itself does not make sense in the context of time, because time requires there to be a beginning and an end. I think it very possible that when we get to heaven we will just BE. No I don't understand it, but I'm sure it will be quite interesting once we get there.
