Jack, your words of care really blessed me bro and I appreciate them a lot. :) "The only way out is martial unfaithfulness. Now don't go and be unfaithful."... This is one of the biggest reasons I have trouble accepting the interpretation of Jesus' words that suggests martial unfaithfulness is the only grounds for divorce, because logically it would seem that if you want out then all you have to do is go have an affair. And frankly that seems ridiculous. "Till death do us part".... I've been considering that option to be honest. If death is the only way out, it seems a desirable option. And if I'm really feeling that way then surely separation is a better option than suicide. I'm a firm believer in the permanence of marriage, but what my wife and I have now is not a functional marriage. Do we stay together and suffer for the sake of the covenant? At first I think "yes"... but this suffering is overwhelming. So either, I'm just a big wimpy cry baby and I should just "grow up and take it like a man!" or I have to admit that this load is just bigger than what I can carry -accept I have failed and I try and move on.
