sorry, but when we're trying to establish what lust is, saying "lust is lust no matter what the topic" really doesn't enlighten me at all.

go to dictionary.com and check out the definitions there if you've never heard of mine. they give you a choice of 7 or 8.

either way, I reckon most people on the street would associate lust not primarily with "intense desire" but with something more sinister.

lust is traditionally (though not biblically, of course) listed amongst the "seven deadly sins" alongside six negative traits, small wonder then, that people connect it to negative aspects of sexuality.

think we need to AGREE on a definition before arguing though, or people will never be able to reach a consensus, let alone an agreement, and it'll just whizz around in circles.

if lust is just intense desire, then it's not what I've been talking about in this section. If it's uncontrolable or self seeking, it is what I call lust and it is sinful.
